DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1: Transfer from Kigali to Musanze for biking & boating in Mukungwa river

 Our Diver/Guide will pick you from your Homestay/ Hotel and drives you 120km which is 2hrs drive from Kigali and first and foremost Biking will be the activity to welcome us in Musanze as we will be biking we will Also be learning more about the Second biggest city in Rwanda after Kigali and  also enjoying the beautiful landscapes of Musanze, afterwards in the afternoon hours we will do Boating in Mukungwa river and we will have our dinner and Do camping at the Mukungwa trail.

DAY 2: Twin lakes experience

Wake up at 06am for the breakfast and Drive to the Twin lakes as we start by doing a short hike that will reward us with be beautiful view of  usanze city. On this day we will also do the boating in Twin lakes as well as getting more information about those lakes, and after lunch we won’t end that  day’s  activities without  experiencing  and  learning  with  the  local  communities  how  banana beers are made, we will also have chance to taste on that.

 DAY 3: Gorilla trekking and Gorilla Guardian Village Tour

Wake up at 06am and Drive to the RDB Head Quarter for registration and briefing as we get ready for    a  lifetime  experience  with  the  gorillas  which  may  take  between  1-4  hours  treks,  after  the gorilla trekking we should take a Lunch in the afternoon we shall drive to the gorilla guardian in where  we  shall  have  the  authentic  experience  of  the  Rwandan  culture  and  history  from  the former poachers of the gorillas, there at gorilla guardians we should enjoy many things includes, Traditional wedding, Traditional doctors, Local food & Beer preparation,Accommodation  Options: Virunga  Inn  resort  &  SPA  (Luxury),  Fatima  Hotel  (Mid-range), Virunga Homestay (Budget)         

DAY 4: Pilgrimage Experience at the roots of Nyabingi Heritage center

Right after breakfast we will drive 45 min from Musanze City to Burera by Visiting the roots of  Nyabingi Heritage center, we will start by doing pilgrimage tour to experience culture diversity, traditional  believes  of  Rwandans  by  enjoying  boat  cruise  in  twin  lakes  along  the  way  with experiencing  its  panoramic  views,  volcanoes  and  incredible  history.  We  won’t  leave  the  place without enjoying the handcraft making along with the local communities give us an experience on how most of the Rwandan traditional materials are made.

 DAY 5: Birding at Rugezi Marshland and canoeing at Mukungwa river.

After Breakfast at 08am we will drive to Mugera nature trail by enjoying the nature walk hike to the heritage center where we will be able to encounter with different colorful birds, conservation awareness  of  Rugezi  marshland  and  community  experience,  after  enjoying  the  birding  we  will also enjoy the canoeing in the Mukungwa river

DAY 6: Bisoke Hiking

Wake up at 06am and Drive to the RDB Head Quarter for registration and briefing as we get ready for a lifetime experience of Hiking Bisoke Volcano which  is 3711 m above sea level and is shared between DR Congo and Rwanda. The hiking tour is from Rwanda’s Volcanoes’ national park. On arrival at the starting point, you will immediately start the trek up to the park boundary where it is separated from the community. There will be porters at this point and you are advised to take one. 

The hike gets really steep at some point and we advise that you consider taking a porter along to help carry your day pack and help support you when you are going down the slippery road.

DAY 7: Musanze Cave and Departure to Kigali.

Right after breakfast and checkout a hotel we will drive For Musanze Caves which was formed in many centuries back, Musanze Caves has also been used as a shelter during wartime for many centuries and was the site of a massacre during the genocide. It continues to hold considerable significance to local people. After Musanze caves we will depart from Musanze back to Kigali and drops you at your respective Hotels/ Homestay.

What type of food is typical in Rwanda/Uganda?

The food may not be sophisticated but benefits from the inclusion of fresh fruit and vegetables. You will find a largely vegetarian diet, although meat is available. The cuisine is largely based around beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, bananas, and rice.

 
What's the weather look like in Rwanda

Any time of year is a good time to travel in Rwanda. Rwanda is known as eternal spring. It maintains a relatively even temperature of about 76.3°F – 82°F/ 24.6°C – 27.6 °C. The hottest time of year is August through September. Evenings are often cool and refreshing and a sweater is suggested. There are two rainy seasons, March through May and October through December. The rainy season shows itself typically with a daily downpour mixed with sunshine. The annual rainfall averages 31.5 in/ 80 cm.

For cancellations received up to 30 calendar days before the scheduled departure, a 20% cancellation fee will be charged.

For cancellations received 15 -29 calendar days before the scheduled departure date a 60% cancellation fee will be charged.

For cancellations received 7 -14 calendar days before the scheduled departure date a 80% cancellation fee will be charged.

For cancellations received within 7 calendar days before the scheduled departure date a 100% cancellation fee will be charged
