Although relatively small in size, the Eastern lowland gorilla has a larger and wider skull compared to the mountain gorilla. Eastern Lowland gorillas are more mobile than the mountain gorillas because their habitats spread over large areas. that is why in this rwanda and congo safaris we will do trek them.

Itinerary of 7 days Rwanda and congo safaris
Day 1 : Pick up in Kigali, Kigali City tour and transfer to DR Congo/ Goma
On this day of 7 Days Rwanda and Congo Safaris Package, our Company Representative will meet you at Kigali international Airport and you will have half Kigali city tour so as to learn more about Kigali one of the cleanest and safest city in African Continent, in Kigali our tour will be mostly cultural and historical based tours.
After enjoying Kigali we will drive 3 hours through the western corner of Rwanda and cross the border to DR Congo. We will have Dinner and Overnight at Lake Kivu Lodge. end of 1st day Rwanda and congo safaris.
Day 2 : Virunga Mountain Gorilla trekking Experience
Rwanda and congo safaris tour On this day we will start early in the morning as we will later be transferred at the Virunga national park Head quarter for the briefing and being grouped.
Later our tour will start in where we will be trekking them through Virunga Mountains on the side of DR Cong, the specie of the gorillas that will be seen to this day will Be the Mountain Gorillas, The trekking time range is approximately between 1 – 5 hours depends on the group of the gorilla to be visited and where it is.
Hopefully it will be a lifetime experience to see this endangered species that share more than 97% DNA to humans. In the afternoon there will be no activity but relaxing on the lake Kivu. Dinner and Overnight at Lake Kivu Lodge
Day 3 : Mt. Nyiragongo Volcano Hike
Rwanda and congo safaris tour on this day will start right After Breakfast from the Hotel we will go to the Kibati patrol post where the m.t Nyiragongo starts for the General briefing from the guides.
In this Rwanda and Congo Safaris You are advised to pack everything generally the pullover just to protects you from the coldness; we will be accompanied by a team of rangers even porters to make sure that there will be no problem for us of carrying the luggage.
On the way towards the summit we will be enjoying the spectacular nature of the nature forest where we shall be luckily spotting different flora and fauna species includes, Monkeys, Primates, Birds, Colorful plants and birds. Dinner and Overnight at the summit
Day 4 : Descend to Mt. Nyiragongo Volcano and Cross through Lake Kivu to Bukavu.
On this day we will descend down to the Volcano and after reaching down we will refresh as well as having our lunch.
Afterwards you will be transferred to Bukavu through One of the Africa’s largest fresh water lake which is Kivu where we will even see different islands in the lake it will take us 4 hours in boat to reach to Bukavu. After reaching to Bukavu we will have dinner and overnight to Horizon Hotel. end of 4th day Rwanda and congo safaris.
Day 5 : Lowland Gorilla trekking and Visit Chimpanzee Orphanage Center
After morning breakfast, you will jump into the safari jeep and take one hour drive to the park headquarter for briefing about the lowland gorilla trekking rules & regulations.
Understand that Lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park that are much bigger in size with vast family groups as compared to the endangered species of Mountain Gorillas. After the trek, you can opt to the chimpanzee orphanage center near the park, Return to the Horizon Hotel for dinner and overnight. end of 5th day Rwanda and congo safaris.
Day 6 : Transfer Back to Kigali
After morning breakfast we will Cross the border to Rwanda – Rusizi and we will drive to Kigali which is a long journey between 6 – 7 hours drive. On this day there will be no activities but checking in at a hotel the Mille Colline for dinner and Overnight.
Day 7 : Kigali Genocide Memorial Tour, Gift Shop and Departure.
On this day last right after breakfast we will drive to the Kigali Genocide Memorial which is the resting place for over 250,000 Tutsi people who perished in 1994. Here we will learn more about the country from the Pre-colonial, Colonial period and post-colonial period up to the time where Tutsi genocide happened.
After visiting this place we will go to the place for the gift shop as we will be dropping you off at the airport for departure. End of 7 days and 6 nights Rwanda and Congo Safaris
