Itinerary of 3 days congo gorilla trekking safari
Day 1 : Pick up in Kigali and transfer to DR Congo/ Goma
At the beginning of this 3 days Congo gorilla trekking safari You will meet with the Company Driver/ Guide and later drives you to Western province of Rwanda (Gisenyi City) which is 3 hours’ drive.
Firstly do a short Boat trip to as to enjoy the lake then visit the Nyamyumba Hot water spring. After enjoying the Rubavu city Driver will take you to Congo Through the Rwanda – DR Congo border and reach to the Goma City because Trekking will be done in the next day. Dinner and Overnight at Lake Kivu Lodge.
Day 2 : Congo Gorilla trekking and transfer to Kigali
Indeed you will be transferred to Bukima which is the starting point of the gorilla excursion for the does and don’ts (Congo gorilla trekking rules and regulations), then trekking will begin and it can be done between 1 – 5 hours depends on where the gorillas are and on the way towards the gorillas fortunately a lot of Flora and fauna species should be spoted includes Monkeys, Orchids, Birds, ….
Therefore After have spent 1 hour maximum with the gorillas, we come back to Goma for Lunch and Later transferred to Kigali in the afternoon. but After reaching to Kigali we shall have a dinner and Overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel. End of 2nd day Congo gorilla trekking safari.
Day 3 : Kigali Genocide Memorial Tour, Gift Shop and Departure
Right after breakfast we will do a short Kigali city tour by Visiting like Kigali Genocide memorial which is the final resting place of 250,000 Rwandans killed in the genocide. It is run by AEGIS, a UK Non-Governmental Organization committed to stop genocides from happening around the world and The center has different exhibit places with space of skulls of survivors and their personal belongings, photographs of survivors, reconciliation efforts, and genocide perpetrators. Lastly depends on time we would pass by the gift shop because of buying some souvenirs and later we will be dropping you off at the airport for Departure.
