Itineraries

Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest with Visit to King’s Palace Museum and Canopy Walk

Begin your day with a transfer from Kigali to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Along the way, immerse yourself in Rwanda’s rich heritage with a visit to the King’s Palace Museum, where you will explore the royal monarchy, cultural traditions, and the iconic Inyambo cows. After this meaningful experience, continue to Nyungwe Forest National Park for an unforgettable Canopy Walk, offering breathtaking views of the forest from above. Conclude your day with check-in at your accommodation, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Explore Nyungwe: Chimpanzee Trekking & Guided Tea Plantation Tour

Start your day early with a briefing for the exciting chimpanzee trekking experience in Nyungwe Forest. After breakfast, begin your journey at 8:00 AM with a scenic drive from Nyungwe Forest to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze District. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of Rwanda’s rolling countryside. Upon arrival, check in to your accommodation and enjoy a well-prepared lunch. Day 4: Mountain Gorilla Trekking

Start your day with a healthy breakfast before heading to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi by 7:00 AM for a briefing on the trekking guidelines. Then, set out on an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience in search of these majestic primates. Once the gorillas are located, you’ll be allowed to spend up to one hour observing them in their natural habitat. This once-in-a-lifetime encounter is sure to leave you with lasting memories.

Day 5 : Golden Monkey Encounter and Gorilla Guardians Village Experience

After breakfast, your driver-guide will take you to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing before you begin your Golden Monkey trekking experience. Enjoy observing these energetic and playful primates in their natural habitat during this exciting adventure. Afterward, visit the Gorilla Guardians Village (formerly known as Iby’iwacu Cultural Village) to immerse yourself in Rwanda’s rich cultural traditions and practices, including traditional dance, local crafts, and insights into everyday village life.

Day 6 : Canoeing on the Mukungwa River & Transfer to Kigali for Departure

After breakfast, enjoy a canoeing experience on the Mukungwa River, located near Volcanoes National Park. As you paddle through the calm waters, take in the stunning views of the lush green riverbanks and the surrounding volcanic mountains. After this refreshing adventure, transfer to Kigali on a scenic 2.5-hour drive. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to stop at local craft shops to purchase gifts and souvenirs.
