Itineraries

Day 1: Exploring Musanze: Canoeing & the Ellen DeGeneres Experience.

Your safari starts with a pickup from kigali international airport or from your accommodation in kigali and continues with a scenic road trip to Musanze where you will get to enjoy your first activity of canoeing, as you paddle along the Mukungwa river, you are treated to breathtaking views of lush green shorelines, after this beautiful experience you will get the time to enjoy a delicious lunch and proceed with checking in to your accommodation near the Volcanoes National Park, get the time to unwind before a visit at the Ellen DeGeneres Campus in the afternoon to learn more about the Gorilla conservation efforts and know more about their behaviors which will increase your excitement for the Gorilla trekking experience.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla trekking experience.

Day 2 start with wake up early, enjoy your breakfast, and then head to the park headquarters for a briefing, where you will be allocated to a gorilla trekking group based on your fitness level and preferences, now it’s time to start the most adventurous and exhilarating trek, depending on the location of the gorillas, once located, trekkers are allowed to spend some time observing the gorillas in their natural habitat, this intimate encounter provides an opportunity to witness their behavior up close as you watch them play, feed and interact with their family group, after this wonderful experience, you will have the rest of the day to relax and prepare for the next adventure.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking and Sunset Boat Ride at Akagera National Park.

Day 3 begins with a briefing at the park headquarters, where participants learn about the rules and guidelines for interacting with these primates, following the briefing, visitors are led into the forest by experienced guides who help track down the Golden Monkey, once located, trekkers are allowed to interact with them for one hour, witnessing their behavior up close as they swing through bamboo trees and forage for food, after this amazing experience, you will have lunch and then embark on a scenic road trip to Akagera national park, upon your arrival, the park’s guide will provide a safety briefing and instructions before boarding the boat, the sunset boat tour typically lasts about an hour on lake Ihema, allowing you to enjoy stunning views of the lake where you will get the chance to spot animals like hippopotamus, crocodiles, different types of birds and by chance you might spot elephants and some antelopes frequenting the shores, after completing the boat ride, you will then be transferred to your accommodation inside akagera national park.

Day 4: Full Day Game Drive in Akagera National Park (Wildlife).
