Itineraries

DAY ONE: ARRIVE IN KIGALI

10 days Rwanda gorilla and Tanzania safari tour will start after you Arrive at Kigali International Airport, upon arrival you will meet with our representative and drive to your accommodation for an overnight stay at Kigali Serena Hotel.

Note: Depends with your arrival time, there are some activities to consider, if your flight arrives early, you can discus this with your consultant during booking process.

 

DAY TWO: KIGALI – VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

Our representative will pick you from the hotel where you are staying in Kigali. After only 2 hours driving you will reach the lodge.

The lodge has been built using environmentally friendly local materials such as bamboos made fitted by a local community workmanship.

DAY THREE: GORILLA TREKKING

On the 3rd day Rwanda gorilla and Tanzania Safari you will start early! From the lodge, you drive into the park about 30 minutes to the office of RDB.

The head ranger will divide you into groups based on interest and fitness. From here your guide will take you as close as possible to the starting point of your tracking.

Today you will track one of the habituated gorilla groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day.

The time taken to track the gorillas can take as little as half an hour to as much as 8 hours!
Your track will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorillas’ current location.

Your guide will point out signs of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. Once the gorillas have been located, you will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a humbling and emotional experience.

DAY FOUR: RETURN TO KIGALI – WALKING TOUR OF NYAMIRAMBO

The 4th day Rwanda gorilla and Tanzania safari tour will start right after breakfast (inclusive) you drive back to Kigali, our most popular offering, the walking tour begins at the Women’s Center with a traditional snack, a quick Kinyarwanda language lesson, and an introduction to the center and its activities.

It then weaves through Nyamirambo, one of Kigali’s oldest neighborhoods. Along the way guides lead participants into a women’s hairdressing salon where the adventurous type can get a free braid.

Into a family compound to pound cassava leaves; by two mosques and a lookout view over Kigali; and into a tailor shop to feel the fabrics you’ll otherwise see styled on the streets.

The tour concludes with a traditional lunch made and served in the home of Aminatha, best cook. Dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena.

DAY FIVE: KIGALI – ARUSHA – LAKE MANYARA

After breakfast, drive to Kigali airport for your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport. Arrive Kilimanjaro Airport in the afternoon, meet your guide and drive to Arusha at Amani Restaurant for lunch then proceed to Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge for dinner and overnight. End of 5th day Rwanda gorilla and Tanzania Safari.

DAY SIX: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, you drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day of game viewing. In this small, but beautiful park with dense forest.

You can spot lots of monkeys, giraffes, elephants, impalas, hippos, flamingos and if you are lucky you may spot the rare tree climbing lions.

A part from the animals the contrasting landscape is stunning with the biggest diversity of habitat than the Serengeti National park.

For birders these is your day over 425 species of birds have been recorded here with the highest number of raptors, in the late afternoon you drive to Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

DAY SEVEN: MANYARA – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, take your packed lunch with you and we set off towards Central Serengeti. Afterwards, we visit the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world – Serengeti National Park.

The word ‘Serengeti’ means ‘endless plains’, which describes the park’s 5,600 square mile boundary. Yet for its sprawling area, the Serengeti does not disappoint when it comes to rich game-viewing.

Annually, from May to December, millions of animals embark on a migration which brings them from central Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara and back again in an incredible spectacle.

Even during the ‘down-time’, vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle roam here, along with groups of elephant, giraffe, and buffalo. As the lions, leopard, cheetah, hyenas and jackals stalk their meals, we enjoy a picnic lunch in this open arena.

On the 7th day Rwanda gorilla and Tanzania Safari we will have dinner and overnight at Ole Serai Luxury Camp for dinner and overnight.

 

DAY EIGHT: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

The entire day is dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti National Park. This park is the oldest and famous in Tanzania and has a diversity of habitats and landscapes – short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps and lakes.

Bizarre rock formations called kopjes dot the grassy landscape where predators are often seen. The Serengeti is famous for the yearly migration when hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras trek to find fresh grass and water.

Game viewing is good year around with great sighting of lions, cheetah leopard, hippos, and giraffe in the evening drive to your Camp at Ole Serai Luxury Camp. end of 8th day Rwanda gorilla and Tanzania Safari.

 

DAY NINE: SERENGETI – NGORONGORO

After an early breakfast you will head out for another game drive in the Serengeti. You might be able to spot the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – before embarking on your journey to the Ngorongoro Crater.

The animals roam freely through the unfenced reserves offering you an uninterrupted game viewing experience. Arriving at the edge of the crater you will have your first glimpse of what awaits you the following day – glistening streams, open grassland and an infinite amount of animals.

You will spend the night at a campsite directly on the crater’s edge with the orange glow of sunset surrounding you as you drift off to sleep. on the 9th day Rwanda gorilla and Tanzania safari tour we will dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge.

DAY TEN: NGORONGORO CRATER – ARUSHA

After early breakfast around 05:50 am, descend down crater at 06 am for 6-7 hours game drive, with picnic lunch. We venture onto the crater floor for an up close at the residents of this World Heritage Site, and enjoy a picnic lunch here.

The Ngorongoro Crater provides great game-viewing all year-round. The wildlife here makes up a permanent population because grazing and water supplies are plentiful throughout the seasons.
