Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our driver guide will welcome and greet you, holding a sign with the name of your name. After a brief introduction, he will assist you with your luggage and take you to the car for your transfer to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you have the option to relax in the hotel gardens, visit the zoo, or embark on a city tour that may include historical landing sites, local markets, or dining at some of Uganda’s finest restaurants.
After breakfast, we will set off on a drive to the Home of the Gorillas, passing through Kayabwe along Masaka Road. Here, you’ll encounter the Equator, a unique spot where the Earth is divided into two hemispheres. This location features several craft shops ideal for purchasing souvenirs and artwork. Additionally, local restaurants will offer you a taste of exquisite Ugandan cuisine.
Prepare for an unforgettable encounter with one of Uganda’s gentle giants, a highlight for many travelers! The day begins with a morning coffee at the restaurant. Afterward, you’ll drive to the briefing point, ensuring you bring drinking water and a packed lunch from the hotel. At the briefing location, you can hire a porter and choose a walking stick if you haven’t brought one. Follow the guide’s instructions and join your group as you venture into the dense forest in search of these magnificent creatures.Upon returning to the briefing point, you’ll receive your Gorilla Trekking Certificate as recognition of this remarkable achievement. Remember, gorilla trekking is a unique experience—few people worldwide have had the chance to see these incredible animals up close. Afterwards, you will drive back to your hotel or head to Lake Bunyonyi for some relaxation.
Lake Bunyonyi is undoubtedly one of the most stunning lakes in Uganda, featuring over 26 islands, making it an ideal destination for honeymoons or relaxation. Start your day by savoring the breathtaking African sunrise while enjoying tropical fruit cocktails from your balcony, or indulge in the rich aroma of Uganda’s finest coffee. If you enjoy cycling, this is a perfect opportunity to ride with your family. You can also take a refreshing swim in this bilharzia-free lake and opt for canoeing to explore its islands.
After an early breakfast, we will head back to Kampala to catch your flight, stopping at the Kayabwe Equator for some memorable photos. Here, you can witness an experiment that demonstrates the unique phenomena occurring at the center of the Earth.If your flight is scheduled for later that day, we will drive you to Entebbe Airport or back to your hotel if you are departing the next day. Should you wish, we can also arrange additional short trips at an extra cost based on available options.
