After breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive to Akagera National Park, known for its stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife. Once arrived, check into your accommodation, settle in and enjoy the serene surroundings. Accommodation: Wilderness magashi peninsula.
Day 3 is dedicated to exploring Akagera National Park. Activities will include game drives through various sectors of the park, offering opportunities to spot the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo), as well as giraffes, zebras, and numerous bird species. Following breakfast, you will transfer from Akagera National Park to Volcanoes National Park. Embark on your first gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park. After a briefing at the park headquarters, you will be assigned to a gorilla family and led by experienced guides and trackers into the bamboo forests. Day 6 offers another incredible opportunity for a second gorilla trekking experience.This allows for a different experience, potentially with a different gorilla family, or a chance to revisit the same family for further observation. After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for some last-minute souvenir shopping or a visit to a local community project. You will then be transferred back to Kigali International Airport for your departure.
