Itineraries

Day 1: Transfer to Musanze, Canoeing near Volcanoes N.P and Ellen DeGeneres visit

Your safari starts with a pickup from Kigali International Airport and continues with a scenic road trip to Musanze where you get to enjoy your first activity of canoeing, as you paddle along the Mukungwa River, You are treated to breathtaking views of lush green shorelines after this beautiful experience you will get the time to enjoy a delicious lunch and the proceed with checking in to your hotel near the volcanoes national park get the time to unwind before a visit at the Ellen DeGeneres Campus in the afternoon after this educational and fun visit return to your hotel for dinner and a restful overnight.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla trekking activity

On this day, you will wake up early, have your breakfast, and then head to the park headquarters for a briefing, where you will be allocated to a gorilla trekking group based on your fitness level and preferences.

Now it’s time to start the most adventurous and exhilarating trek. The trek can last anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. Once located, trekkers are allowed to spend one hour observing the gorillas. This intimate encounter provides an opportunity to witness their behavior up close as you watch them play, feed, and interact with their family group.

After this wonderful experience, you will have the rest of the day to relax and prepare for the next adventure.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking experience and transfer to Akagera National Park for sunset boat ride.

After an early rise and breakfast, your trekking experience begins with a briefing at the park headquarters, where participants learn about the rules and guidelines for interacting with these animals. Following the briefing, visitors are led into the forest by experienced guides who help track down the monkeys.

Once located, trekkers are allowed to interact with them for one hour, witnessing their behavior up close as they swing through bamboo trees and forage for food. Similar to gorilla trekking, this can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours.

After this amazing experience, you will have lunch and then embark on a scenic road trip to Akagera National Park. Upon your arrival, the park’s guide will provide a safety briefing and instructions before boarding the boat. The boat tour typically lasts about an hour on Lake Ihema, allowing you to enjoy stunning views of the lake and its wildlife. After completing the boat ride, you will be transferred to your hotel inside Akagera National Park.

Day 4: Full Game Drive in Akagera National Park

This immersive experience allows you to explore the diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes of the park over an extended period. The drive typically lasts for a full day, providing ample time to observe various animal species, including the Big Five, which consists of lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinoceroses.

After this wonderful experience, you will be transferred back to Kigali for dinner and stay.

Day 5: Kigali city tour and Airport drop off

On this day, you will begin with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, which serves as a solemn tribute to over 250,000 victims of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. After reflecting at the memorial, you will have the opportunity to visit craft shops and explore bustling local markets, such as Kimironko Market.

Enjoy a delicious lunch before proceeding with the Fazenda Sengha tour, a beautiful country club located on Mount Kigali. This offers visitors a unique experience that combines the beauty of nature with equestrian activities such as horse riding, quad biking, ziplining, archery, trampoline, and painting.
